I have actually wanted to start 'Orphan's Day' for people like me who lost their parents way too early....or anyone who lost a parent regardless of age. I don't care how old you are, there is no one like your Mommy when you are sick

or on your birthday,

when you want to share a new discovery: be it a surprise in the garden,

or a yummy new recipe

maybe tell her all about a far off destination

I still reach for the phone sometimes. Go to buy her a gift, write her a postcard. Even though it has been almost 15 years since she passed away I miss my mother so much, especially on Mother's Day.

This Sunday we'll be celebrating life with a brunch in our garden along with some other orphans. If your mom is still around, give her a hug for me.

Abby: I'm sorry for your loss, and yes, I will give mine a special hug for you.
I'll lend you my Mum for Mothersday!
I'm sorry for your loss, Abby. I think your idea to celebrate with others who have lost their mothers is wonderful.
She is with you every time you are thinking of her, and even when you are not. You still have a relationship with her because Love never dies.
Abby, sorry to hear your side. I still have my dear mum but out of reach. I been away from her for 38 yrs. Seems too long.
DOn't you know that, when I heard the song, "Busses & trains" this morning while having our breakfast, I can't keep my tears falling. Didn't know that tomorrow is Mother's Day.
Tears my heart million pieces.
TY for sharing and reminding.
hugs for our day!
