The Wedding Planner

Well amazingly enough four of my friends are getting married this summer. You would think that train would slow down once you hit forty but it keeps chuggin along. Hallelujah!

Jeff and I tied the knot a couple years ago and I guess people enjoyed our wedding so much they think of me as a wedding planner. I do know a thing or ten about a good party and am always ready to help out but I just can't seem to get the Martin Short character out of my head from Father of The Bride. What a character. I may get a pompadour.

DO you have any great pointers to make a good wedding a great wedding? Please share I would love your input!

I'm sure you know this by now:
1. Keep a to do list for everything
2. keep a sense of humor

Good Luck and have fun with it! :)

Hi Abby :)

Thank you for the sweet comment!

I've been told I should be a wedding planner too, but I could never be in a position like that because it has to be MY way LOL

My advice (that no one ever follows) is that you should keep the budget in mind. I think it's more impoirtant to have the best wedding you can afford, rather than the biggest. I would rather be a guest at a wedding that has wonderful food, great music and beautiful linen, then one that has rubbery chicken, a terrible DJ and paper plates. So, I tell people to either cut down the guest list to most important or get rid of the dinner wedding and have an afternoon wedding with Hors d'ouvres and expensive champange with violins or harps for background music.

If they can afford a "Trump" wedding then by all means go for it, but also keep in mind that a smaller intimate wedding is more memorable ;)

That's my 2 cents anyway ;)

Your wedding was great!

I would advise not being so completely hung over that you feel horrible on your wedding day. Happened to me.

Also, if it's outside you are going to live through whatever weather Mother Nature wants to gift you with!

I still have the fabric squares that my guests designed. I was supposed to make a quilt. Maybe that's a legacy project for Ava.
